About Nolan

Washington County isn’t just where I practice law, it’s where I was born, raised, and choose to live with my family. It’s a community I’m proud to call home, and I want to see it thrive.

I grew up in Slinger and graduated from Slinger High School in 2007. I earned my associate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Washington County in 2009, where I was honored to deliver the commencement address.

It was on that graduation day that my path was clear. I had the privilege of speaking at length with our guest speaker, Wisconsin Supreme Court Chief Justice Annette Ziegler, who has since become my professional hero. That pivotal conversation ignited my passion for the law and launched my legal career.

I went on to spend two years at the University of Memphis, and returned home to attend Marquette University Law School. To make it work, I lived at home in Slinger with my parents and rode the Washington County Commuter Express bus every single day of class for three years.

Graduating during a recession presented real challenges, but it reinforced my grit and determination. I started at a firm, but felt called to bet on myself – deciding to open my own law practice.

I have spent my entire career fighting for what’s right, and it is my commitment to you that I will continue to fight for what’s right for you and our families.

It would be an honor to receive your support!

Philosophy

As your Washington County Judge, I pledge to be a firm, impartial arbiter of the law:

Rule of Law Image

Rule of Law

I will apply the law as written, not legislate from the bench. Judicial activism has no place in our courtrooms. Judges are called to uphold the law, not advance a personal or political agenda.

Constitution Image

Constitutional Integrity

I will enforce our state and federal constitutions according to their original intent. Reimagining laws to advance for an agenda erodes public trust in equal, blind justice.

Public Safety Image

Public Safety & Accountability

I won’t coddle criminals. I’ll hold them fully accountable for their actions. By getting tough on bond, bail, and sentencing, I’ll protect the safety of our families, small businesses, and law enforcement heroes.

parade

Your Judge. Your Values. Your Neighbor.

I am deeply connected to our community, and that bond will remain unbreakable if I have the honor of serving you on the bench.

Leadership is about accessibility, accountability, and respecting the trust people place in you. Just like representing the Slinger uniform on the high school basketball court, I pledge to represent your core values in the courtroom.

A fair judge listens, respects the rule of law, and treats every individual with dignity. Whether it’s a referee or a Hartford Oriole on the court, or an attorney, a defendant, a law enforcement officer, or a victim of a crime, I will always be approachable, respectful, and fair.
